Top 5 Reasons to Enroll in Online Classes

placeit

Online education has come a long way these past few years, showing the world how it has been able to raise itself to the challenge. Here’s a question for you, students from all over the world: why would you enroll in online classes? Based on Horizons University’s own students’ feedback and informal exchanges, we’ve come up with 5 top reasons:

1 – Flexibility

Online learning platforms make it a breeze to take online classes: with a simple click of the mouse, students have access to their student page and the courses they are enrolled in, anytime, anywhere. This means that they can enjoy greater flexibility, away from commuting hours, attendance hours and fixed schedules. They can set their own study plan and pace to share with their facilitator and fit it to their lifestyle. At Horizons University, we accept applications all year-round and students can start any course on the day of their choice and set their own pace!

2 – Cost-effectiveness

At a time when tuition fees are soaring, convenience seems to be one of the top reasons for students to look for new, affordable study options. Horizons University online course fees are clearly stated on the institution’s official Internet site. Students attending online classes will cut down transportation, babysitting, gas costs. In addition, most of our online classes do not require physical textbooks: readily available e-resources can be found within each course or via our partnerships with e-libraries and other digital publishers.

3 – One-to-one experience

Students are tired of being just another number, pushed from one reception desk to another… They appreciate receiving the full attention they deserve throughout their administrative tasks and studies. At Horizons University, for every course you take you will be assigned to an expert Faculty member, who will guide you through the course, help you deepen your knowledge, and give you a personalized and tailored one-to-one learning experience. Our Faculty members come from all over the world, bringing their international experience to you!

In addition, once you enroll you will be assigned a Student Premier who will accompany you, support you, and be in close contact with you throughout your degree to answer any questions you may have about your orientation, course structure, schedule…

 4 – Ease-of-use

What do you need to study online? A computer and an Internet connection. Period. You may connect from anywhere, anytime and since our approach is content-based, you may access your course content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our introduction courses are designed to guide students through the step-by-step procedures applicable to our platform and webmail. Easy peasy.

5 – Quality

To ensure the recognition of Horizons University degrees around the world, we are constantly pursuing accreditation and re-accreditation. Now Horizons University holds ASIC, ECBE, and ACBSP accreditation, and this is only just the beginning!

We feel that quality in education should not be a privilege, but a right. We have designed our degrees from the bottom up so that we can offer them to YOU at an affordable price.

Tell us, what are your reasons for choosing an online degree? Share them with us so that we can add them to the list and keep growing together!

Sergio Cunha is Horizons University’s intern and the school official translator and interpreter. Within the framework of his internship, he is also acting as the administrative assistant, supporting the HU staff in its multiple tasks.  Although he lives in Paris, his family is from Portugal… Sergio wanted to share a little about his “homeland.”

Lisbon Portugal

Port in Lisbon, Portugal

When you think about Portugal, what do you see? Perhaps a really small country which needs a lot of help from the European Union in these times of hard economic crisis. Recently, some countries were reluctant to help Portugal but they probably did not know the following. What about you, did you know?
Portugal is the westernmost country of Europe and has the oldest borders in the world, established in 1249. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south and by Spain to the north and east. The Atlantic archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira are also part of Portugal.
Portugal discovered Brazil and the sea route to India and the Portuguese empire lasted six centuries, the longest global empire in history.

Portuguese is the fifth most spoken language in the world, with around 270 million official speakers in five continents.

Portugal abolished slavery in 1751, more than a century before the United States, and was the first country in the world to abolish the death penalty.

Portugal is a European leader in renewable energy as a result of an aggressive plan named E4 (Energy Efficiency and Endogenous Energies) launched in 2001 and aimed at improving energy efficiency and production.

Regarding Portugal Sergio remarks; “I love going there every summer with my parents to see my family. Here is a funny fact: during the whole year, certain villages in Portugal are empty but when August comes, the “imigrantes” bring them back to life!”
